Graphic Design is a basic introduction to computer arts. The course will provide the necessary skills for the beginning graphic artist to create, manipulate, and arrange a variety of items including; flyers, programs, business cards, letter heads, logos, photo editing and manipulation, layout editing, etc. Students will use Adobe Photoshop CC (most up to date version of the program). Students will also demonstrate an understanding of file/photo organization, color theory, and purpose for specific outlets. Students will identity and explore how a graphic artist would begin creating artwork for a specific client.

Planning, research, and problem solving are also major curriculum concerns. Students will explore current and past graphic artworks through literature and technologies. Student will also maintain a sketchbook, which will include class notes, handouts, planning for projects, a working journal, artist statements, etc.
