ART IV ((Independent Study))

Grades 12, with instructor consideration
Art IV Independent Study was created for students who have taken all other art courses offered. These students should be dedicated, driven, non-time wasters and up to creating things they never have before.  If that isn’t you, you should take a different class, so you don’t waste your time and materials. I have created several documents to help you get and stay organized and to help you plan just a little bit. However, you are free to create whatever level appropriate work you would like with the materials available to you at school or what you have purchased.  You do need to create 1 project that requires art history research. This isn’t a class for you to work on other homework, might has well just take a study hall if that is the case. Take your time here to take a break from “other” classes and enjoy yourself and make some super neat stuff along the way!

Course Objectives:
-Students will create their own curriculum.
-Students will work independently - self pacing.
-Students must try something NEW!
-Students must try something that is DIFFICULT for them!
-Students will complete a digital portfolio. (website or Adobe Spark)
-Students will sketch 60 minutes a week-- keeping and submitting a time chart via Classroom.

-Students will complete a minimum of 1 project that requires art history research.
-Students will update a weekly timesheet, in addition to the sketchbook timesheet and submit via Google Classroom.
