3D Syllabus

2D/3D ART

Grades 10, 11, 12

2D Art

3D Art

2D class is the continuous study of 2 dimensional artwork based upon knowledge gained in prior courses.  Students will work with more advanced drawing techniques, processes and materials including, but not limited to the following; pencil, charcoal, pastel, paint, printmaking, and spray paint. Emphasis will be placed upon the quality of the art product, the production process, following directions, and the students own creative influence.

Students will also be required to complete an outside of class sketchbook assignment every 10 days.

Students will use current literature and technologies to explore past and present art ideas and techniques. Students will be challenged to use planning (sketching), research, and problem solving through hands on experiences.
 

Prerequisite – Art I (with a C or higher), Art II (with a B or higher or permission from instructor) Can be taken in conjunction with Art II, Art III, and/or 2D with teacher permission. ​
2D ART 
(semester 1)
-Spiral Bound Sketchbook 
-Pencils (not mechanical)
-Eraser
-Ebony Pencil
-Blending Stump
-V5 Precise Pilot Pen (preferable) or a Sharpie Fine Point Pen (not marker) or G5 Rolling Ball Pen.
-1 sheet of large white poster board
The 3D class is the continuous study of 3 dimensional art based upon knowledge gained in prior courses.  Students will work with more advanced building techniques through the use of a variety of materials including, but not limited to the following; clay (hand-building and wheel throwing), wire, cardboard, foam or plaster carving, etc.  Emphasis will be placed upon the student’s quality of craftsmanship through production, following directions, as well as the student’s own creative influence.

Students will also be required to complete an outside of class sketchbook assignment every 10 days.
 

Students will use current literature and technologies to explore past and present art ideas and techniques. Students will be challenged to use planning (sketching), research, and problem solving through hands on experiences.
